Road transport and the environment : areas of concern for the Asian and Pacific region

Abstract

Analyses the growth experiences in the road transport sector in both developed and developing economies in relation to environmental concerns; reviews and evaluates the measures that can prevent or mitigate the adverse environmental consequences of road transport development; and identifies specific schemes with good potential for application in the ESCAP region.
