The Asian Industrial Development News has been published since 1966. It owes its existence to the first Asian Conference on Industrialization which decided that a regular publication of this nature should be undertaken by the Asian Industrial Development Council (AIDC) with the principal objective of disseminating information on regional industrial development and of publicizing AIDC’s activities. The News covers current industrial developments and industrial planning and programming in the ECAFE countries as well as technical and economic studies on several major industrial sectors, problems of regional integration, manufacture exports, industrial growth and strategies of industrialization.
