<p>ESCAP’s report Financial resilience, inclusion and entrepreneurship: Is Asia and the Pacific close to gender parity?, presents and analyses of a non-exhaustive set of indicators on women’s access to finance and the various spillover effects on their lives, revealing gender gaps in women’s financial inclusion, asset control and ownership, financial resilience and entrepreneurship. Where data is available, the findings of the report show that in most Member States and Associate Members, women have lower levels of bank account ownership, access to credit and access to pensions. Women also experience higher levels of stress related to their financial situation and women-owned MSMEs lack adequate access to financial services. To close these gaps, the report sets forth a number of recommendations for policy makers and financial service providers, with an aim to foster a more gender inclusive financial system across the region.</p>...
