AB <p>This publication, fourth in a series devoted exclusively to the study of Quaternary stratigraphy in the Asia-Pacific region, contains a selection of papers presented at the third and fourth regional meetings of Project 296 of the International Geological Correlation Programme (IGCP) held in Phuket, Thailand from 14 to 21 October 1991 and in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam from 13 to 15 December 1992.</p>
<p>The meeting in Phuket was combined with field studies in both Malaysia and Thailand. A field trip from Kuala Lumpur to Phuket made it possible to directly compare Quaternary stratigraphic sequences in both countries. The papers presented at this meeting reflect recent work done and progress made in Quaternary stratigraphy and its correlation in Australia, China, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, the Republic of Korea, Thailand and Viet Nam.</p>
