Report on indicative basin plan : a proposed framework for the development of water and related resources of the Lower Mekong Basin, 1970

Abstract

The present report sets forth a framework for the progressive development of the water resources and related resources of the Lower Mekong Basin to meet the anticipated needs of the Basin during the next three decades. It provides a basis for selecting projects for implementation during the initial years of development. It also provides a programme for further investigations to more closely define the growing needs during the later years of the period and the projects which should be implemented to satisfy those needs. The report provides an understanding of the assets of the Basin and their potential utilization. This understanding will greatly assist the planning authorities of the four countries of the Lower Mekong Basin in the formulation of their economic and social development plans.
